2018 Bmw X2: New Spy Shots And Specs

This is not the first time we see a testing prototype of the all-new and very interesting 2018 BMW X2, but it might be the last time. No, the carmaker will not give up on the vehicle. It’s actually totally opposite. The amazing coupe-like SUV will arrive, and the latest spy shots suggest that there is nothing else for checking. Yes, the X2 is ready and we think it’s going to be introduced very soon.

According to our information, the 2018 BMW X2 will get a range of small engines. However, the US model won’t be that generous. No, the North American drivers will have to satisfy with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4. This unit already works under the hood of the X1, so we know it’s able to deliver an impressive output of 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Of course, the mill will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, while there will be available all-wheel drive. Still, if the crossover becomes an interesting option, and we are sure it will be, the carmaker will almost definitely add a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The all-new X2 uses the same architecture as the X1. What’s more, it’s derived from BMW’s smallest crossover. However, this doesn’t mean that these two share everything else. No, aside it is coupe-looking SUV, the X2 will look a lot better. The latest prototype shows most of the styling cues that previewed the concept model a year ago. Okay, the production model will be a little bit toned down and will feature a restyled front bumper, but everything else stays as it was. If you ask us, the 2018 BMW X2 won’t be the most handsome BMW crossover available, but one of the best-looking SUVs in the class.

Our man from BMW says that the compact coupe-like crossover should make its official debut at the 2017 Paris Motor Show. This isn’t all because the manufacturer works on the high-performance model as well.
