The new Ford Ranger is ready for its official debut! Though it’s not for North America and it’s not the regular model. No, this year’s Frankfurt Motor will host a limited edition pickup, which will be sold in just 2,500 units. The model is named 2018 Ford Ranger Black Edition and looks just as the name suggests.
The car manufacturer made a few changes compared to the regular Ranger. The de-chromed Black Edition pickup is painted in Absolute Black featuring a black grille, alloy wheels, and sports bar. It sports pretty impressive equipment, which can match with the current Limited model. There is a SYNC 3 multimedia system with a pretty big 8-inch touchscreen and satellite navigation. Front parking sensors and rear view camera are also standard, and so are dual-zone electronic climate control and heated mirrors. The 2018 Ford Ranger Black Edition will be available as a double-cab truck, meaning there will be seats for five people. The seats are leather upholstered.
The limited edition of the bestselling European pickup truck will probably rely on two diesel option. This means the European buyers will be able to pick between so-called Duratorq mills, which are 158bhp 2.2-litre unit, or a 197bhp 3.2-litre five-cylinder.
The carmaker hasn’t released any pricing information yet. However, the 2018 Ford Ranger Black Edition should cost a bit over the current Limited model. According to Ford, the sale will start shortly after the 2017 Frankfurt auto show.
