Infiniti’s all-new QX50 is coming closer to the production lines. The crossover is spotted once again, yet this time with significantly less camouflage than before, so we can anticipate what’s cooking. The Japanese car manufacturer kept its earlier promise. They said earlier that the production model won’t differ too much from its concept, and as you can see, the pre-production prototype looks pretty much the same as the concept that was shown at the 2017 Detroit auto show. This is the first time we saw the cabin from the close range. The 2018 QX50 will definitely feature a dual-screen setup, which is really great. According to the information we have, the upper display will control the navigation system, while the lower screen shows all other available info. The carmaker decided to keep analog gauges for now, but they are getting a digital screen in the middle. The SUV will get Nissan’s ProPilot semi-autonomous-driving technology of course.
The all-new QX50 will be introduced with a single-engine. It’s a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder capable of producing 268 horsepower and 288 pound-feet of twist. In contrast to the predecessor which used a rear-wheel-based architecture, the new generation QX50 will ride on a new front-wheel-drive platform. Still, you can expect standard all-wheel-drive on upper trims for sure.
The 2018 Infiniti QX50 will make its official debut before the end of this year, most likely at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.
