The 2017 Los Angeles auto show is approaching and so as the official debut of the new generation Wrangler. Still, the amazing SUV has been previewed with three fantastic shots, which reveal pretty much everything that regards the exterior design. Aside we have these photos we made to pick up a leak directly from Jeep that shows how many green bills is needed for the base, manual 2018 Jeep Wrangler 201/JLU.
In case you don’t see the small letters and numbers, we will tell you. The starting price will be exactly $30,445 (no destination charge included), which is $2,550 over the predecessor. Although it’s sounds, or better to say, it’s definitely too much, the nameplate will be hot-seller, simply because it’s the all-new Wrangler.
So what’s really new? Well, regardless of the fact that the new generation Wrangler resembles its predecessor, the changes are extensive without any doubt. The off-road vehicle will ride a new architecture, plenty of latest tech inside, and some new options beneath the hood. As we said already, the SUV will keep the six-speed manual, but most options will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission; the updated one, to be more precise. Speaking of the updates, we can skip the chance to mention improved 3.6-liter V6, which will reportedly get more power and better economy. Though, the potential buyers will be able to choose a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as well. This so-called Hurricane will allegedly have 300 horsepower, or even more, which is more than enough for the 2018 Wrangler. For diesel fans, they will have to wait a little bit more, because the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel model isn’t scheduled for this year. It’s pretty much the same story with the Wrangler hybrid.
On the other hand, the buyers will be able to get its all-new gasoline-powered Wrangler shortly after the Los Angeles debut. Of course, the carmaker will offer a range of options, including two- and four-door models, soft- and hard-top models, as well as two different transfer cases.
Just wait for a few weeks, and we will provide you all information you need to know about the 2018 Jeep Wrangler.
