This year’s Detroit auto show will host one pretty amazing GT model. It’s the 2018 Kia Stinger GT – the best Kia car ever without any doubt.
According to the carmaker, the Stinger GT will use a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. The mill will be capable of producing 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. Unfortunately, the car gets no manual gearbox, so you will have to satisfy with an eight-speed automatic transmission. GT’s 0-62 sprint is estimated to be around 5.1 seconds, while the top speed should be limited to 167 mph.
Kia will also add one less powerful option for the Stinger GT. The impressive sedan will get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that’s able to develop 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. This option will also use the 8-speed gearbox and AWD.
The 2018 Kia Stinger GT uses the same rear-wheel-drive platform as the 2017 Genesis G80. However, the car also features MacPherson struts at the front, and multi-link suspension at the rear, which makes it even more impressive. As you may notice, the exterior styling is based on the earlier GT Concept, which is great. The sedan is aggressive, dynamic, and sexy, but not overly blatant.
The interior is even more seductive. Those air vents boost the overall dash, while the touchscreen infotainment seems to be in the right place. The amazing head-up display shows speed, navigation, blind spot information, and audio and cruise control setting. Just look the steering wheel and shift stick – they are absolutely unique and quite handsome. The 2018 Kia GT will be the first vehicle with a driver attention alert system. The useful system alerts the driver when it needs to take a break. Of course, Kia won’t skip adding forward collision alert, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist and rear cross-traffic alert as the standard options. The car will also get adaptive dampers, and the driver will be able to decide the level of participation of the electronic stability.
Stay tuned for updates.
