2018 Ram Rebel Will Go Against Ford’s Raptor With Hemi V8

Ram is getting ready to introduce a high-performance vehicle that will go against Ford’s mighty Raptor. According to Caranddriver.com, the topping pickup truck will be based on the TRX concept and will be introduced before the end of this year as the 2018 Ram Rebel.

The pickup truck will get an impressive engine that’s going to beat Raptor’s 450 horsepower strong 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine. Yes, the 2018 Ram Rebel will use a supercharged and intercooled 6.2-liter Hemi V-8, which is also known as the Hellcat V8. The mighty mill is capable of pumping out 707 horsepower, but the carmaker won’t go that far. No, because there is no real need for that. Instead, the 2018 Rebel will likely come with the concept’s 575 horsepower, which will power all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The amazing truck won’t get an independent platform. No that would make it too expensive. Instead, the carmaker will adjust Ram 1500 architecture and will feature special off-road suspension, upgraded tuning with Bilstein shock absorbers. Rebel’s exterior styling isn’t any secret at all because it will look exactly as the TRX concept. Okay, the carmaker might downsize truck’s wheels and tires, but everything else will stay unchanged.

Judging by the information we have, the 2018 Ram Rebel won’t be just a more powerful pickup truck that the Ford Raptor. The vehicle will also get a higher price tag, so in contrast to the Raptor that starts a little bit over $50K, Ram’s ultimate truck will get an opening price of around $55K.
