We just spotted the new SUV from Land Rover. The vehicle appears to be some kind of the Range Rover Sport. At least the latest reports suggest. The rumors also say that we this could be the all-new 2018 Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid. Well, it might be, but we can’t confirm that at the moment because we haven’t managed to see any socket on the body.
However, according to the latest speculations, the 2018 Range Rover Sport Plug-in Hybrid is getting an amazing and pretty powerful drivetrain. The system will pair an electric motor and the newest Ingenium four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The gasoline mill will be able to produce 296 horsepower, while the electric motor should help with 201 hp. Of course, the powertrain will be mated to the all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The carmaker still hides the exact detail, so we can’t found out how big will be the battery. Still, we are pretty sure it will be placed in the trunk floor. The hybrid SUV will likely have the ability to cross up to 30 miles without any help of gasoline engine. In case you think this isn’t too impressive result, we must remind you that this isn’t some small car, so it’s really hard to achieve such impressive result.
The 2018 Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid won’t look like its non-hybrid brother. Okay, they will use the same platform and most of the design cues, but there will be certain cosmetic change inside and out. While we can’t say what’s going to happen inside, we are pretty sure that the exterior sports new front and rear ends. In the front, the “greenest” Range Rover Spot features a new and unique pair of headlights and totally different bumper styling. Around back, the carmaker plans to add redesigned taillights, new bumper, and reworked exhaust outlet.
Judging by the latest information, the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid will be introduced early next year, so we should get more about it in the coming months.
