The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado hasn’t been introduced yet, but we have a few shots of the production-ready SUV. Moreover, as you can see, there is a bunch of vehicles that undergo a mid-cycle refresh and now wait to get new owners. The amazing SUV looks different exteriorly, but there are mostly cosmetic changes. Though, the new model will be essentially better from its predecessor due to a number of new features. As far as we found out, the 2018 Land Cruiser will host a totally new infotainment and safety systems, as well as at least one new engine.

But let’s start with the exterior, shall we? As you see, the front-end styling is totally redesigned. There are a new grille and bumper, which seems to be closer to the ground and equipped with angular fog lights. The redesigned LED headlights resemble today’s, but they are a bit smaller and significantly angular. Toyota hasn’t messed with SUV’s profile at all, while the rear end features new taillights. On the other hand, the side stripes disappeared, while the wheels sport the same size yet new design.

Take look on the interior. The new cab looks better due to a new and sportier steering wheel and a new dashboard. Better quality materials are all over the cab, while the potential buyers should be able to choose between several color combinations. In addition, the infotainment system is also updated and equipped with a bigger display. However, the biggest progress happened in the safety department. From now on, the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will host the Toyota Safety Sense P suite, which is absolutely amazing.

The system includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection which uses a camera and laser radar to scan for objects ahead of the vehicle. If the system detects potential danger, it alerts the driver to hit the brake and provides additional braking force if it’s needed. There is also Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beam, as well as Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Steering Assist.

Toyota hasn’t announced anything regarding the powertrains, so we assume the motivation will come from the same options. However, aside from the existing mills, it’s almost certain the arrival of the all-new 2.4-liter turbo diesel, which develops 148bhp and 295lb ft of twist. Transmission vise, the SUV will keep its six-speed auto and manual gearboxes.
