Audi’s A6 may be one of the most popular sedans available, but we are always for the sleeker variant that’s named A7. Now, we know that the German car manufacturer currently works on the second-generation of the A7.Moreover, we managed to catch a few testing models. However, today’s prototype appears to have a mightier engine from all other making us believe that we are looking into the completely redesigned 2019 Audi S7 Sportback.
Judging by the sound of the prototype, we are pretty sure that the next generation S7 is getting a 2.9-liter twin-turbo TFSI engine instead of the current 4.0-liter V8 engine. There is nothing official regarding the output, but we have found out that the 2019 Audi S7 Sportback should get around 450 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Of course, the car will ride on the same platform as the regular A7. This Group’s latest’s MLB architecture will make the redesigned S7 significantly lighter (around 200 pounds) from the predecessor, which will definitely boost car’s performance figures.
Even though it’s still completely camouflaged, we are that the 2019 Audi S7 Sportback is getting a new design based on the Prologue concept. And no, we are not talking about the exterior only. The car should get a Prologue-based interior as well. Plus, there will be Audi’s latest infotainment and driving-assistance technologies.
The next generation Audi S7 Sportback will make the official debut sometime next year, so it should become available in late 218. The price won’t go far away from the current, so let’s say it’s going to start from around $81,000.
