This year’s Paris Motor Show will be the host of the 2019 Audi SQ2. The sporty version of the Q2 has been previewed a week before its official debut in France’s capital and we have to say that we didn’t expect as big differences between the regular and more potent model.
While the overall design doesn’t really bounce off the Q2, the powertrain of the all-new SQ2 is significantly more powerful. In place of a 187-hp mill, the sporty crossover gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 with 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of twist. The TFSI comes coupled with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission that sends power to Audi’s awesome all-wheel-drive. The system is so special because it has the ability to send all available torque to the rear wheels when it’s required.
By using the drivetrain, the crossover is going to be able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds. Top speed is, on the other hand, limited to 155 mph.
The 2019 Audi SQ2 uses an S sports suspension that lowers the car 0.79 inch. The car is coupled with either 18- or 19-inch wheels, which are wrapped around with 235/45 tires. Audi’s Calipers come in the black and red paint, with 13.4-inch rotors up front and 12.2-inches at the rear.
After its official debut next week in Paris the crossover is going to reach dealerships next spring. Audi hasn’t announced pricing of the 2019 Audi SQ2 so far.
Although very powerful the SQ2 isn’t the topper. No, that place is reserved for the more potent RQ S2 which is allegedly in the works already. According to Autocar, the hottest Q2 will be fitted with a 400-hp 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5.
