2019 Chevrolet Silverado RST Spied: The Sporty Truck Shows All Potential Before Debut

Well, we can’t say that we haven’t seen it’s coming because the carmaker announced the possibility Silverado’s sporty trim, though we didn’t expect to see a totally uncovered prototype of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado RST before its official debut.

Speical Kit For The RST Truck

The pickup truck has been caught on public roads a few days ago wearing a new and exciting suit, which is, we have to say, quite amazing thanks to a number of cosmetic changes and some mechanic updates. Let’s start with wheels because they are 22-inch big and mated to six-piston Brembo front brake calipers. According to our sources, the pickup is fitted with magnetorheological suspension, while the rear end shows a GM Performance exhaust that reportedly adds some extra power.

In addition, the tailgate hosts an RST badge, which is the biggest proof that we are looking into Silverado’s new-gen sporty trim. In the front, the truck gets body-colored grille inserts and bumper, as well as full-LED lights. We haven’t seen the cabin yet, but it should not differ overly from the interior of the new-gen Silverado. Of course, the carmaker will not skip the chance to add RST-treated headrest a few more sporty badges.

Engines Will Mirror The Regular Model

There will be nothing surprising under the hood. The sporty pickup truck will use 6.2-liter LT1 V8 and 5.3-liter V8 engines which will be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel-drive. The manufacturer could also introduce the 2019 Chevy Silverado RST Diesel later. The option will get motivation from a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six engine. Like we said before, the special exhaust tips may enable a higher output, but the slight power bump means nothing, so we can’t call the RST-badged Silverado Performance truck because it’s fitted with more aggressive styling cues.

Arrival and Price

Anyway, the carmaker will make you give some extra money for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado RST without any doubt. The truck will become available before the end of the year.
