We can’t really say for Hyundai’s i30 N hot hatch that it’s a true high-performance compact, but it pretty cool and sporty. Moreover, we have to admit that the car provides plenty of interesting details inside and out, as well as enough power for the high-speed drive. The “N” badged hatchback isn’t interesting to us only. It’s and will be a real hit worldwide without any doubt. The Korean carmaker won’t stop here. No, they have a plan to add “N” to a couple more models, starting from Tucson and Kona crossover. The 2019 Hyundai Tucson N is in the works already, so it should become available next summer.

Under the Hood

Hyundai’s first “N” crossover will use the same engine as the aforementioned hatchback. The carmaker will likely add both the regular and Performance model, so the potential buyers should be able to choose between the base 2.0-liter T-GDI turbo with 247 horsepower and the performance package, which is going to deliver 271 ponies. Both options will power front-wheel drive system via a six-speed manual transmission. Though, the U.S. model will likely host an optional all-wheel drive and automatic transmission, probably the seven-speed unit.

Special Features and Design Details

Although most of the drivers wish for more power that they really need, the 2019 Tucson N will prove that there are some more important things. If we have the right information, the crossover will feature adaptive suspension and variable exhaust valve. We expect nothing less from multi-link in the rear and MacPherson struts up front. The hot crossover will also get stability control and larger wheels along with Pirelli P-Zero performance tires. Do we need to mention that the wheels come in a pair with significantly bigger brake discs?

The exterior styling will also have some new, bright moments. Hyundai will add bigger air intakes in the front, as well as a red line, which is basically the trademark of all “N” models. Both front and rear bumpers will feature notably more aggressive loom, while the rear hatch should host a dual exhaust layout. Inside, the 2019 Hyundai Tucson N will definitely get sports seats and some special details like contrast stitching or something like that.

Stay tuned for updates.
