Porsche is currently working on the new generation Cayenne that’s coming sometime this year. Still, this won’t be the only change in Porsche’s SUV lineup. No, the German car manufacturer hasn’t forgotten its smaller SUV, which is also getting some changes. Today’s model has been introduced sometime in 2015, so the carmaker prepares a mid-cycle refresh for the upcoming year. However, the refreshed 2019 Porsche Macan won’t look too different from the current one.
We have spotted the first testing model of the updated 2019 Macan. The attractive SUV appears to get a totally revised front end. Porsche will likely add a new, more massive bumper and redesigned day running lights. The new grille could also sport some changes, but this isn’t the case with this particular prototype. In the back, the crossover should also feature some tweaks. We can bet on restyled taillights and reworked bumper, while the carmaker might also add a redesigned exhaust outlet. The guys from Porsche hide the dash of the testing model, which means that there would be some changes inside too.
Macan’s new interior will probably feature a redesigned dash and new upholstery. There is a big possibility of seeing the new and high-res touch-sensitive displays that were introduced with the latest Panamera.
We can’t say for sure what’s going to be under the hood of the 2019 Porsche Macan, but the latest rumors indicate that the luxurious SUV could adopt some kind of plug-in hybrid powertrain. The setup will reportedly use a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 and an electric motor, which will be integrated with the transmission. Of course, the manufacturer will also offer a range of gasoline units, while the North American drivers won’t be able to buy the Macan S Diesel because of the Volkswagen Group’s recent scandal with oil-burners.
The facelifted 2019 Macan won’t become available before 2018, so there is plenty of time for updates.
