2019 Volvo S60: Redesigned Sedan Spied Without Camouflage

Well, it seems that Volvo has a leak from the inside. Someone took a single shot of what seems to be the production-ready compact sedan. Yes, we are looking into the redesigned 2019 Volvo S60. The compact executive car is going to be introduced later this year, though it seems to be ready right now.

The single shot of the 2019 Volvo S60 shows plenty of interesting details. We still don’t know how it’s going to look the sedan from the front, but we have to say that the rear end looks better than we’ve expected. Compared to its predecessor, the new-gen S60 appears to be more attractive thanks to more dynamic rooflines and smoother rear hatch. A pair of taillights sport pretty interesting shape, while two trapezoidal-shaped exhaust tips just spice up the complete design.

The redesigned sedan is not just more attractive from the predecessor, but it also benefits from some extra space inside. We are not so sure how many inches the 2019 Volvo S60 has got in length, though we know that the Swedish car manufacturer intends to increase interior space, especially for the rear-seat passengers. In addition, the new cabin will most likely get the Sensus Connect infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and WiFi. It will also host pretty good active safety features which are called City Safety. The system includes standard automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning, though there are going to be optional rear cross-traffic warning with rear automatic emergency braking. Volvo will not miss the chance to offer Pilot Assist II, which has an available self-steering and active cruise control.

It’s no secret at all what’s going to be under the hood of the 2019 Volvo S60 because the carmaker offers most of the new models offer pretty much the same powertrain options. The sedan will probably get pretty familiar T5 and T6 units, while a plug-in hybrid could be introduced later. The T5 model will deliver exactly 250 horsepower, but in case you need something more potent, there’s going to be the T6 with 316 hp. If the T8 plug-in hybrid actually arrives, the new-gen S60 will be able to offer a 400-hp drivetrain for the first time. No matter which option the potential buyer decides to buy it will get the standard 8-speed auto transmission.

There’s no information about U.S.-specs S60 at the moment, so we don’t really know whether the amazing sedan is going to arrive here or not.
