While most of the car manufacturers are entering into the coupe-SUV segment these days, BMW is working on the third-generation of its awesome X6. Now, we may be not some big fans of the segment that spoilt all the beauty and excitement that coupe cars provide, but the aforementioned nameplate achieved a respectable number of sales over more than 10 years of existing, which means that there are plenty of those that can’t wait to see what the automaker from Germany prepares for the 2020 BMW X6.

Since the carmaker started testing the coupe-SUV, we have certain information about the successor. As far as we can see, the 2020 BMW X6 is going to become softer. More precisely, it sports softer body lines, yet more aggressive rear hatch, because the next-gen model gets the roof that starts dropping earlier than before. The rear end gets a set of new and slimmer taillights, while the redesigned bumper hosts a pair of squared exhaust tips. Up front, the new X6 seems to gets a more massive bumper with new air intakes, while the grille shape looks unchanged at the moment. The front bumper features Driving Assistant sensors, too, which are great news because the coupe-like crossover is definitely getting BMW’s new-gen safety suite.
Speaking of technologies, we expect a range of useful starting from Laserlight headlights up to Ambient Air Package. Let’s not forget automaker’s new Head-Up Display and Integral Active Steering tech, as well as Live Cockpit Professional with a pair of 12.3-inch displays.
The regular, non-M 2020 BMW X6 will be offered with two engines. The new straight-six unit will provide 335 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque, while the more potent V8 model is going to produce 456 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Both options will be available with rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive system which will be supplied with power via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The new-generation X6 with its codename “G06” will make the official debut sometime next year.
