Facelifted 2018 Suzuki Vitara Spied For The First Time

We can’t say that we get over the old and distinctive styling of Suzuki’s compact SUV, yet we have to admit that the fourth-generation Vitara could easily compete with the best models in the segment. And what’s more important, the producer has no intention to stop there. No, they are working on the refreshed model just two years after they released the totally redesigned version. From what we see here, the 2018 Suzuki Vitara won’t differ too much from the current model, but it will feature a lot more tech.

As you may notice, the 2018 Vitara features a sensor that’s integrated into the front bumper. This means that the carmaker plans to add some new driver’s assistance systems and a lot more safety kit. Some reports suggest that autonomous emergency braking sits at the top of the list, which is really great. The Japanese automaker won’t skip the chance to refresh SUV’s cabin as well. We believe that the 2018 Suzuki Vitara could have a lot more options inside. For instance, they will definitely improve today’s infotainment system and will probably add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new exterior will sport a new nose without any doubt. The most evident change is the completely redesigned grille. Besides it’s significantly lowered, the future grille will feature mesh design, which isn’t the case with the current one. While the testing model we see uses the headlights of the current S model, the production-ready 2018 Vitara would probably get a little bit restyled lights and new graphics. The crossover might also get a larger bumper, while the rear end should feature redesigned taillights.

The refreshed model will keep the current engines unchanged. You will be able to choose between a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder mill and a bit more potent a turbocharged 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine. In case you rather prefer an oil-burner option, the carmaker will continue to offer a 1.6-liter DDiS. Of course, the diesel maybe lacks ponies, but it sports more torque and significantly better fuel economy.

According to the information we have, the 2018 Suzuki Vitara will be introduced in early 2018. The price will probably stay unchanged.
