2018 Hyundai Grand Starex Facelift Introduced Home in South Korea

The 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex has got a facelift for the next year. In case you come from North America, you’ve probably never heard about the vehicle, but the rest of the world knows what’s going on here. The Grand Starex is an MPV that’s being sold in South Korea. It’s also available in Europe as the H-1 Travel, while the Australian Public probably recognizes the so-called iMax. Anyway, the MPV is really amazing already, so it can be only better after the update.

Exterior Changes

The refreshed vehicle sports a few cosmetic updates on the exterior. More precisely, the 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex features a completely new front end with an amazing cascading grille and a pair of really attractive headlights. The lower part of the bumper has been redesigned as well, so basically, the hood is the only untouched detail in the front.

The carmaker hasn’t touched the profile of the MPV, which is logical because we are talking about a mid-cycle update. On the other hand, the rear end gets a slightly redesigned bumper and a pair of new C-shaped taillights. Still, there is a really big difference between trim levels. The vanilla, Urban model, for instance, sports halogen headlights, but it also hosts LED daytime running lights and LED taillights.

New Stuff Inside

The Urban model offers “just” seating up to 9 passengers, while the lower trims can hosts up to 12 people. Still, the level of comfort can’t measure, so we always chose the topper. On Performance

The refreshed 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex gets an updated powertrain, too. The 2.5-liter turbo diesel mated to a six-speed manual gearbox delivers 140 horsepower and 353 Nm of twist. The five-speed automatic lifts power of the CRDi engine to 175 PS and 451 Nm of torque thanks to variable geometry turbocharging technology. 4WD will be optional, of course, yet if you pick that, you can also expect a standard locking differential, as well as hill-start assist and a bit softer suspension.
