2021 Acura MDX A-Spec: Changes, Design, Engine and Price

Acura’s mid-size SUV has dressed up in a new suit for the 2018 New York Auto Show. The vehicle got some interesting changes inside and out, but it kept its powertrain untouched at the moment. The Japanese carmaker figured out an interesting name for the crossover, though we are more interested in the option that’s announced for the near future. You are looking into the 2021 Acura MDX A-Spec model.  As for the more interesting MDX, well, the manufacturer has promised the Type-S model, but they haven’t say how long we have to wait for the topping option.

Regarding the 2021 MDX A-Spec, the crossover is featuring an extra dose of sportiness without any doubt. Essentially, there are just a few changes on the exterior, but the changes have done the job because the vehicle looks incomparably better. The front end hosts dark trim pieces here and there, as well as a fresh badge. More precisely, both headlights and taillights are blacked-out a little bit, while the rear end also hosts a more aggressive exhaust design. The side of the car reveals amazing 20-inch 10-spoke grey-painted wheels and body-colored side sills.

What are the Engine upgrades in the 2021 Acura MDX?

One of the most exciting parts of the Acura MDX is its thrilling performance and athletic handling abilities. The 2021 MDX continues with a massive 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine clubbed to a highly responsive 10-Speed Automatic Transmission that pumps out 290 hp and 267 lb-ft. The 2021 model will be underpinned by a new platform and is finally confirmed on getting the much-anticipated turbocharged V6 unit that makes 355 hp in the Type S. The Type S will push the limit of Acura MDX’s performance with improved 0-60 mph timings and top speed and will establish itself strongly in the segment, as quickly as the arrival of the 2022 MDX!

The cab is enriched by a red or black leather seat with faux-suede inserts. The steering wheel is somewhat thicker, while contrasting stitching, gauges, sports pedals, and faux carbon-fiber trim make the A-Spec model unique.

The crossover is paired with a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine. The only difference is the lack of a front-wheel-drive option. Yes, the 2021 Acura MDX A-Spec comes mated to a Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive, which is almost twice a better option from the FWD. The potential buyers can get an optional hybrid powertrain too. The awesome MDX A-Spec crossover will hit the dealerships this summer. Acura hasn’t announced pricing details so far, but we think that the option has to cost $50,000.
