2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss Introduced in Texas

Here comes the boss. This isn’t any kind of boss, but the off-road boss. The rugged vehicle has arrived a few weeks earlier than we’ve expected because the carmaker has scheduled the official debut for the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, yet the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss has landed at Texas Motor Speedway. Still, we don’t mind at all. On the contrary, the off-road trim level just opens up a new chapter in Chevrolet’s history and celebrates 100 years of truck heritage.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss will be just one of eight trim levels available. However, in contrast to the other seven versions, the Boss sports a special suspension and sits higher on the ground. More precisely, the off-road pickup truck uses a Z71 off-road package, which lifts up the bodywork for another two inches of the ground.

The new-gen Silverado 1500 uses an all-new architecture with more lightweight materials. Still, don’t expect F-150 all-aluminum bed. No, Chevy’s workhorse relies on higher-strength steel to shed some weight. The carmaker wasn’t being specific about the weight of the new truck this time. Moreover, they haven’t released whether the 2019 Silverado Trail Boss features a larger footprint or not. Still, as we see it, it might be just a bit longer from the predecessor.

It’s quite obvious on the other hand, Chevrolet’s new design philosophy. Say whatever you want, but for us, the redesigned Silverado 1500 looks better than ever. The new front end styling is very effective, while the rest of the body looks somehow more athletic.

The nose sports an awesome grille, which is coupled with a pair of slim LED headlights. Below, the truck sports a capable bumper with two red hooks. This altogether looks perfect to us, but what do you think? In addition, the half-ton pickup truck gets unusual front fenders, which are stretched all the way to the grille. Loo a bit up and you will see new side mirrors, which are no longer hooked up to the A-pillars, but to the doors.

The 2019 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss uses special wheels with Goodyear all-terrain tires, but that’s not going to be the case with the other seven trims. On the other hand, the attractive rear end will, which is great, because the new one is far more attractive than the current. Read More

Chevrolet is still hiding Silverado’s future engine options, but we think we know what’s coming. The truck will rely on some existing and a few new options. The base model is going to use today’s 4.3-liter V-6 which will be improved. The mill will reportedly deliver around 300 horsepower.

In addition, the truck will also use a new turbocharged four with 272 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque, as well as at least one V8 unit. The manufacturer plans to add a diesel in the near future, yet the oil-chugging won’t be ready right away. That’s not everything. The truck will also host a new 10-speed auto gearbox.

The all-new Silverado 1500 will make its official debut soon, so stay tuned for updates.
