2019 Jeep Scrambler Rendered: A Mid-Size Pickup Truck With Wrangler Characteristics That Looks Awesome

Jeep heated up the atmosphere with the Gladiator concept a long time ago, while spy shots that constantly tide some for years are just adding fuel to the fire. The boiling point is even closer after today’s renderings of the 2019 Jeep Scrambler. Though, the car manufacturer has not confirmed the name yet, so the pickup truck could get another nameplate when it arrives.

In any case, the 2019 Scrambler renderings point out pretty much everything we knew already. The mid-size pickup truck will look pretty much the same as the new-gen Wrangler. The only difference will be the bed in the back of course and slightly longer body, which should exceed 210 inches for sure. Jeep could add a few additional inches of ground clearance to enable even better off-road abilities. Though, the pickup truck will be mated to a special leather frame and solid axles, as well as coil springs, so we can guarantee unlimited off-roading capabilities even now and without checking the truck.

Things will be even better if the pickup truck gets the same options under the hood as the Wrangler. The SUV sibling is mated to an amazing 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine and a mild-hybrid technology. The unit delivers 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough for Scrambler’s needs. In case you need more power, there’s going to be a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 horsepower. However, the mill will have a lower twist, so you will have to be satisfied with only 260 pound-feet. Sometime later, the carmaker will probably try with a diesel engine as well (the option has to be a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel), or they may even add a plug-in hybrid that’s going to be ready next year.

The 2019 Jeep Scrambler will reportedly cost around $30,000. The mid-size pickup truck will appear either late this year at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, or in early 2019 at NAIAS.
