2019 Nissan Altima: Redesigned Mid-Size Sedan Looks Gorgeous

After all-new Accord and Camry mid-size sedans, Nissan is getting ready to introduce a completely redesigned 2019 Altima. Today’s Altima is almost ten years old, so the arrival of the new-generation model is something that’s more than necessary.

Judging by the first spy shots, the car manufacturer will do a good job. That especially refers to the new exterior, which appears to feature some really interesting styling cues. Upfront, the mid-size sedan seems to feature pretty much the same grille as the Vmotion 2.0 Concept, or perhaps Qashqai’s new nose. Car’s profile reveals a dynamic, almost fastback design of the 2019 Nissan Altima, as well as a floating roof, which currently sports the bigger Maxima sedan. Both headlights and taillights are still camouflaged, yet we think that they are very sharp and aggressive, especially the headlights. Someone would say that the next-generation Altima looks pretty much the same as the maxima, but we disagree. The future mid-size sedan looks smoother to us.

Inside, the 2019 Nissan Altima won’t look too catchy, but it will have everything you need. The tablet-style infotainment system will take most of the center console, but the carmaker hasn’t left out volume and tuning knobs as well. The automatic climate control system will be part of the base model, while the quality of materials seems to be quite solid. The dash will feature two analog dials with a small screen in the middle.

Turbo and hybrid under the hood

Under the hood, the mid-size sedan should rely on a 1.6-liter turbo. The engine will be a perfect replacement for today’s 2.5-liter unit since it delivers 188 horsepower, which is more from 182 hp, which is the output of the current four-cylinder mill. While we don’t know that’s going to be with the V6model, we know that the car manufacturer prepares the 2019 Altima Hybrid. There are no particular details about the hybrid powertrain, but we can bet it will consist of a small turbo gasoline engine and a single electric motor.
