2019 Nissan Titian V6 Will Use Pathfinder’s 3.5-liter DIG Engine

Ford’s F150 is still the best-selling half-ton pickup truck in North America, while GM and Ram struggle for second place. These three share a really big piece of the market cake, so the rest of the car manufacturers get only the crumbs. Nissan’s, for instance, has released its full-size workhorse not so long ago. The redesigned vehicle is truly amazing and offers pretty much the same equipment and features as the aforementioned trucks. So, tell me what seems to the problem of the Japanese car manufacturer? Well, it appears to be a higher starting price? The issue is actually under the hood, because the current model offers just diesel and one V8, but not any smaller engine, which would cut the expenses. According to the latest reports, this is going to change pretty soon, because the carmaker works on the 2019 Nissan Titian V6.

Carmaker’s spokesperson Kevin Raftery has confirmed that to AutoGuide, yet he didn’t say when this might happen. Though, judging to our insider, the new starting option is going to be introduced either late this year or eventually in early 2019. The V6-powered Titan is practically a done deal because Nissan has a suitable engine already. The Japanese automaker doesn’t really need to make anything all-new for Titan’s needs thanks to the current 3.5-liter DIG V6. Under the hood of today’s Pathfinder, the engine delivers 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. They might try to add the mill some additional power. Though, that’s not essentially necessary, because the unit provides enough power and torque already.

If this really happens (and it will), the carmaker will have a new starting option which will be competitive with Ford’s and Ram’s V6-powered models. Meaning, the 2019 Nissan Titian V6 will definitely cost a few thousand less than the current base model. We expect the be price around $27,500, but let’s wait for some official words of the manufacturer.
