2019 Renault Twingo Spotted Refreshed: Changes, Engines, Improvements, Arrival

Renault is preparing certain changes for its popular hatchback. A partly camouflaged 2019 Twingo has been spotted testing. Still, that’s not odd at all, because the current model was introduced in 2014, which means that the car desperately needs some changes. Since it hides just the ends, the hatch will feature just a mid-cycle update. Though, the refresh will bring plenty of interesting improvements without any doubt. This is what we think about the updated 2019 Renault Twingo:

Engine Changes

Judging by the newest reports, the refreshed hatchback will come without the current 0.9 Tce engine. Instead, the small car will rely on a slightly larger 1.0 TCe unit which will most likely deliver 95 horsepower. The vanilla option will get a more powerful version of the same engine that will reportedly be able to produce 110 hp or even more. The base 2019 Renault Twingo will, on the other hand, stick to the 1.0-liter naturally aspirated three-cylinder unit that delivers 70 horsepower.

Redesign and Improvements

Styling changes are, as we’ve said earlier, mostly related to hatchback’s ends. While grille and headlights seem pretty much the same as earlier, the center front section appears to be rounder. Though, the biggest cosmetic improvements are additional air intakes on corners, which make the 2019 Renault Twingo somehow sportier from the predecessor. Around back, the compact car packs a pair of restyled and rounder taillights and a totally new rear bumper, which will most likely host a new exhaust layout. Moreover, the exhaust must be different, because the testing model shows the pipe in the right corner, which was not the case until now.

The popular hatchback will host an updated infotainment system for sure. Plus, the French car manufacturer will not skip the chance to add some better materials to the entire cabin.

Estimated Arrival

Renault hasn’t confirmed any date of the arrival so far, but we think that the refreshed 2019 Twingo is going to be introduced home at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in September.
