2020 Audi Q7 Gets A Mid-Cycle Refresh

In case you’ve forgotten, the second-generation 2020 Audi Q7 crossover SUV made debut some three years ago, which means that the automaker must reconsider some subtle changes as soon as it’s possible. The mid-cycle facelifted model will most probably appear sometime next year. Moreover, we are pretty sure about this matter because we’ve managed to catch a testing prototype a few days ago.

Exterior Changes

The updated 2020 Audi Q7 features camouflage at its ends, especially in the front. Plus, it has been wrapped around lower parts of its sides. Upfront, the mid-size SUV sports a completely new grille which will reportedly be exactly the same as Q8’s. The prototype gets a set of new headlights, too. The new lights are borrowed from the smaller Q3, but not paired with LED matrix technology at the moment. At the rear, the 2020 Audi Q7 seems pretty much identical to the current one. Still, that’s not going to be the case when the preproduction model arrives. Instead, the SUV will most likely feature a new bumper and Q8’s taillights, which will make the mid-size SUV more attractive. At sides, the vehicle hosts some camouflage, but we are not so sure what’s going to be changed there. On the other hand, the testing model shows new alloys already.

Interior of 2020 Audi Q7

The model gets some camouflage inside as well. More precisely, the carmaker hides the new dashboard, which will reportedly be identical to one inside of the Q8. The crossover will feature upgraded technologies and new infotainment software that will mirror the new A4. Plus, the facelift will bring better materials and more standard safety features without any doubt.

Under The Hood

The crossover SUV already uses great engines, so it’s still unclear what’s going to be improved under the hood of the 2020 Audi Q7. Some reports claim that every single mill is going to be paired with a mild-hybrid aid, which will improve efficiency and power. Meaning, gasoline units, both a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter V-6 TFSI will deliver better numbers. Of course, both of them will also be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In Europe, the manufacturer also offers a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.0-liter TDI diesel with an electric motor. The version will probably stay unchanged and far away from the U.S. ground. Read More

2020 Audi Q7 Price and Rivals

Since we are talking about a mid-cycle refresh, the 2020 Q7 will either keep the price unchanged or it will go slightly up. The biggest rivals of the SUV will continue to be BMW’s new X5 or Mercedes‘ impressive GLE.
