2020 Hyundai Palisade Offers 8 Seats, V6 and V8 Engines, As Well As A Hybrid

It’s always good to see an all-new full-size SUV. In the era of high-riding vehicles, they are still endangered species. Though, the number of 8-seat models slowly grows and will grow in the future thanks to a pair of large siblings, which are almost ready for the debut. In case you think that you are looking into the upcoming Kia Telluride look again because it’s not. Instead, this is the sibling from Hyundai which will reportedly be named the Palisade. The name came to us from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Yes, the carmaker has filed to trademark the names “Palisade” and “Grandeur”, though we still have an idea what they intend to do with the other one.

As for the 2020 Hyundai Palisade, the SUV seems to hosts Kona’s mesh grille in the front which is paired with slim daytime LED lights. The front bumper doesn’t look too big, but we assume it has a large air intake in order to cool off the large engine. In addition to the bold front end, the 2020 Palisade is mated to not too big 18-inch wheels and vertical taillights around back.

The boxy exterior promises a large interior that is going to be mated with some pretty useful stuff. The full-size SUV will not skip the chance to offer Hyundai’s latest safety suite and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. The driver will have its own benefits like a 30-way seat, while all passengers should get heated and ventilated seats.

The all-new high-riding vehicle will offer several engines. Hyundai promised 15 electrified models by the end of 2020, so we think that the new SUV has to be on the list. Still, don’t expect anything to “hardcore” so-to-say, but just a mild hybrid aid in the form of a 48-volt integrated starter generator that will provide some help to a V6. Speaking of the V6, well, you know and we know that the vehicle is going to use a 3.3-liter V6 twin-turbo, so the only question is how many ponies are going to deliver the mill. If the carmaker decides to squeeze everything, you can expect exactly 365 horsepower. Hyundai will also use a familiar 5.0-liter V8 engine in order to cope with the American rivals. The engine will deliver around 420 horsepower to all four wheels. Yes, the topper should be available with all-wheel-drive only, while the V6 should get a standard front-wheel drive and optional AWD.

According to the latest rumors, the all-new full-size 8-seat 2020 Hyundai Palisade SUV will cost around $45K. Still, this is unconfirmed information, so it’s better to wait for the official arrival which is scheduled for early 2019.
