MG Hector car

Recently MG Motor India unveiled the Hector SUV in India. While the teasers gave away much of its exterior, after its launch, the cabin came to light and we are giving you a glimpse into what the car’s interior is like. The cabin is one of the crucial aspects of a car because you spend all your time right there and more so in the compact SUV segment where every other model the Hector will compete with comes packed with features to the gills, be it the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass or the Tata Harrier. The Connected Car tech will certainly add credibility to the overall appeal, but for the benefit of customers, it is important to have a package all these features. Here’s an overview of the MG Hector inside.

Design And Appearance:

The cabin’s architecture is sleek and streamlined thanks to the massive full-HD 10.4-inch touchscreen that omitted several buttons. There aren’t too many creases on top of the dash to make it look clean, but the lower panel, center console and door pad profile are clear. The upholstery is finished in soft-touch and it illuminates the cup holders. In the central console, the piano black inserts gray highlights on the dashboard, and grab handles add to the premium quotient. Also, the seats look well reinforced and the contouring is comfortable. Ultimately, the cabin looks sumptuous for its category and we’d have preferred to have MG finish the seats and soft-touch upholstery in matching leather to make it more liveable.

Features:

MG Hector Interior
The MG Hector sports a 10.4-inch touchscreen display that provides access to a range of features. The MG Hector is oozing in this section and will rank really well with the first-segment packages. We are concerned not only about the linked vehicle (or’ internet internally’ as MG named it) part of the SUV, but also about amenities such as a panoramic sunroof and the hybrid setup.

Many standard features include the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Assist, cruise control, MID, adjustable doors, wing mirrors, and controlled tailgate. Nonetheless, the associated car applications remain the magnum opus. The 10.4-inch vertically mounted screen comes with pre-loaded entertainment content and enables you to manage a range of features for complete vehicle settings. The system offers features such as real-time navigation, remote location, geo-fencing, response to emergencies and much more. The app will be upgraded through over-the-air downloads (OTA) such as firmware, which upgrades functionality like other apps. Moving on to its design, Hector’s style and overall appearance is definitely something that buyers in this segment will appreciate. While MG is traditionally a British brand, Hector is more American in design and interpretation. It has a butch-looking front hidden by a massive black mesh grill and sleek chrome surrounds, and MG has adopted the new on-trend model where the headlamp assembly is situated in the bumper and the daytime running lights (DRLs) are positioned on the rim below the hat. The measurements of the MG Hector SUV are a size-positive for its class and it has the highest footprint in its category at 2750 mm, being 4270 mm long, 1835 mm wide and 1760 mm thick. Within, it gets an all-black coat and finishes soft-touch leather upholstery that feels good. The dash and central console design look basic, mostly because of the wide touchscreen that covers many buttons. Even turning the longest wheelbase into a roomy vehicle.

There will be three options of powertrains and gearbox configurations to choose from at the MG Hector SUV. The diesel option will be powered by the 2.0-liter Fiat-sourced engine that churns out 168 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm and is equipped with a stock six-speed manual transmission. A lithium-ion 48-volt battery helps store energy and provides an additional 20 Nm of torque when needed. The blend also helps reduce emissions by up to 12 percent using three major features-Engine Auto Start-Stop, Regenerative Braking, and E-Boost.
