2021 Buick’s new Regal is almost ready for the official debut. The car manufacturer plans to introduce the vehicle next January at the 2017 Detroit auto show. However, they won’t preview just one “flavor” as we thought earlier. Except for the new mid-size sedan, you will also see the all-new wagon and maybe the Regal SUV. We say “maybe” because we are not sure whether the producer can finish the high-riding model until the next NAIAS. On the other hand, we are absolutely positive that the 2021 Buick Regal Tours wagon is coming.
The wagon won’t be too different from the sedan sibling. Moreover, both will use Malibu’s new chassis. The underpinning will make the model very light and quite rigid. It will also allow some pretty good engines. According to tour inside information, the 2021 Buick Regal wagon will get Malibu’s 1.5-liter engine, which will produce around 163 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of twist. There will a more powerful option of course. The car will likely feature a 2.0-liter unit that’s capable to deliver 256 hp. Both engines will be matted to an eight-speed auto transmission and front-wheel drive. Of course, there will be an optional all-wheel drive.

The testing model we saw still wears camouflage, but since it’s really thin, we can conclude what’s beneath. As you may notice, the 2021 Regal Tours will be a really sporty wagon. The nose is more upright, while the complete front end seems to be pretty wide. In addition, there are very slim headlights and impressive grille.
The roof sports this “shooting brake” styling, while the rear end gets a very dynamic shape. Still, there might be a problem around back, because the back window appears to be very small. We haven’t seen the interior yet, but since the new wagon rides on the E2XX architecture, we are absolutely positive there will be plenty of space inside.
