2020 Cadillac CT4: New Small Sedan Spied Testing

Cadillac is building its all-new small sedan. We know that because the vehicle has been spied testing at the Nurburgring a few days ago. Essentially, the 2020 Cadillac CT4 will take place from the ATS and will try to grab as much space in the compact C segment as it’s possible.

Even though it’s usual to look pretty much the same as its bigger brother, this is not going to be the case with the CT4. On the contrary, the entry-level sedan will have almost nothing in common with the CT5. That’s because the larger sedan has coupe-like lines, while the C-segment car gets a more traditional sedan look. Plus, the testing prototype shows notably shorter front and rear overhangs from the mid-sizer, while the mirror caps happen to sit higher as well. The testing model appears to feature a radiator grille in the front and a quad-exhaust system in the back. These features will stay when the production model arrives, which is not going to be the case with these Dodge Charger-inspired taillights. No, they are here to confuse us.

We can’t say what’s cooking inside of the small sedan, but we hope it’s going to be as interesting and luxury-oriented as its mid-size brother. Of course, Cadillac will bot miss the chance to add Super Cruise electronic driver aid for highways, as well as the latest safety aids.

Let’s back to the quad exhaust tips, shall we? Well, the set of pipes is unnecessary if the carmaker doesn’t plan to introduce a high-performance CT4. If this happens (and we think it’s going to happen for sure), then you can expect the vanilla model to use a twin-turbocharged V-6. As for the regular model, it will most likely use a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 or even the 2.0-liter turbo LTG mill. In any case, the engines are going to be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which will supply regular rear- and optional all-wheel-drive systems.

The latest reports claim that the 2020 Cadillac CT4 is not going to be revealed before the second half of 2019.
