2018 Infiniti Qx80 Revealed: Shows an Awesome Styling and Nothing New Under The Hood

Infiniti is getting ready to reveal the new QX80 at the on Tuesday at the 2017 Dubai motor show. However, they’ve decided to release a set of pictures that are showing what’s coming. We have to say that the updated 2018 Infiniti QX80 isn’t looking as we expected. That’s because Nissan’s luxury department previewed the SUV in April with the QX80 Monograph concept.

Exterior Changes of Infiniti Qx80

QX80’s new exterior styling looks far better than earlier. It’s just the facelift, but the carmaker made some crucial moves, which embellished the overall design. Upfront, the SUV sports a new vertical grille that resembles the Q60 Coupe. There is an eye-catching pair of headlamps, which sits significantly higher than earlier. All the way down, the front end features a broader lower air intake. Around back, Infinity added more subtle changes. The taillights feature new graphics, while the tailgate sports a wider chrome strip. They’ve updated the rear bumper and side vents, which also look a far better than earlier. The manufacturer didn’t make any changes to the profile, yet the side look reveals new wheel patterns. Though, the buyers will still be able to choose between standard 20-inch and optional 22-inch wheels.

Cabin Updates

The cabin hasn’t suffered any radical changes, but the subtle redesign raises the stakes for the rivals. There is a standard wood-grain trim, as well as new stitching patterns on the seats and door panels. This particular model hosts brown leather upholstery, but there the potential buyers can choose black leather too. The subtle changes inside include a new device storage area and redesigned cupholders. From now one the cabin will become a significantly more peaceful place thanks to new noise insulation on the door panels and behind the dashboard. Both noise and vibration are reportedly essentially reduced. Infiniti even replaced the tires for that reason.

On Performance

The most disappointing part of the update is under the hood, simply because there are no changes at all. The 2018 Infiniti QX80 will continue to use a 5.6-liter V-8 engine capable of producing 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. Of course, towing capacity stays limited to 8,500 pounds. 4-wheel drive is the standard part of every QX80 as it is a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

Price Info and Arrival

The automaker hasn’t released any pricing information so far. Still, Infiniti will probably announce the cost range shortly after the Dubai and Los Angeles debuts, because the SUV should reach the dealerships this December.
