2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk SPY and Details

According to Jeep’s CEO Mike Manley, the Grand Cherokee will definitely add one more option under the hood. Now, this isn’t going to be any kind of engine, but the impressive Hellcat mill. Yes, the same one that currently powers Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat versions, and yes, it will most likely deliver all 707 horsepower. The top-dog model will be introduced sometime next year, probably in summer, so it will arrive as the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

This is Beneath Camouflage

We haven’t seen the production-ready model yet, but judging by the spy shots we have, the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will feature some quite unique cues. This especially refers to the front end that’s going to look ultra-aggressive and really mighty. The hood appears to be totally new and with a new scoop, while the headlight styling should add new graphics and LEDs. Of course, the bumper will be very massive, while the air intakes should be at least twice bigger than one that cool-down the regular model. Around back, the Trackhawk model won’t differ too much from the standard Jeep Grand Cherokee. There might be a bit restyled taillights, maybe redesigned bumper and nothing more. Oh yes, we forgot that there will be a more aggressive, dual exhaust pipe design.

Underbody, the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk appears to have plenty of upgrades. There is a revamped suspension with extra bracing that’s going to stiff the chassis without any doubt. On the other hand, the brakes seem to be borrowed from the SRT model. At least we think so because there are the identical Bilstein shock absorbers. Of course, the production model might get improved tuning.

Drivetrain Specs

No matter how is the important exterior and interior, the most precious part of the new SUV is the drivetrain. Like we said before, the vehicle will use the Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that is capable to deliver 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The power will run all four wheels and will be able for a 0-60 sprint below 3.5 seconds. The top speed should be limited to 157 mph.

Estimated Price and Arrival

If the car manufacturer skips the 2017 Detroit Motor Show, then the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will be definitely introduced at the next auto show in the Big Apple. The price isn’t known yet, but we think it will start at $80,000.
