We generally don’t really like coupe-like crossovers at all. They somehow look like coupes on steroids, which is too unpleasant, so-to-say, for our eyes. The “generally” word is here thanks to a few of the kind that somehow leaps from the cliché. One of ours “adorable coupe-crossover” list is definitely the all-new BMW X2. The high-riding vehicle has its own exterior styling, which is very catchy and interesting. Plus, it shares most of the characteristics with the amazing X1, so it can’t be a bad choice. The only lack here is engine choices because the SUV comes mated exclusively to a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 228 horsepower. The issue will be solved pretty fast in Europe thanks to a diesel option, which is going to arrive in the coming months. On the other hand, the North American fans will have to wait for the end of the year, when the carmaker should introduce the topping 2019 BMW X2 M35i.
The prototype of the M-treated model has been caught a few days ago. The vehicle sports several new exterior details, which give away the high-performance genes. In the front end, the crossover gets a bit camouflage for bigger air intakes, while the rear end features larger exhaust tips. The profile is untouched, but the coupe-SUV looks more dynamic thanks to a new, lowered suspension. The M suspension system will be paired with larger wheels and special tires. The prototype hosts 20-inch alloys which will get the final treatment later and a special braking system. We haven’t seen the interior yet, but the vehicle will likely have some “M” details here and there, as well as sports seats.
