2019 JEEP CHEROKEE PROTOTYPE REVEALS EVERYTHING WE WANT TO KNOW

The facelifted Cherokee SUV lost its heavy camouflage in favor of this cleaner one, which reveals pretty much everything. The fresh face sports new, really attractive headlights, which are replacing the outdated and separated headlights and daytime running lights. The nose features a redesigned grille as well, but we can’t see the overall design yet. Below, the front bumper appears to have a larger air intake, which is a logical move, because the SUV is getting a new and potent engine.

Around back, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee gets almost nothing new. There is a pair of larger taillights and a new place for the license plate, while everything else stays untouched. The profile is pretty much the same as well, but the fenders and wheels appear to be slightly restyled. More precisely, the crossover features pronounced fenders and new patterns for the wheels. Although we can’t see that here, the updated exterior will definitely host some new pain options.

Speaking of options, we can’t skip the chance to mention one new under the hood. This new engine will power the performance-oriented Trackhawk version. Just don’t expect anything like a 707-hp strong Hellcat. No, the option is reserved for the bigger brother. Instead, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk will feature a new 2.0-liter Hurricane engine. The four-pot mill will make its debut with the new generation Wrangler. It’s going to produce around 300 horsepower, which is more than enough for the topping Cherokee. The engine won’t be everything new under the hood. The compact SUV will reportedly or better to say definitely host a 10-speed automatic transmission. Of course, the gearbox will be optional.

As for the other options beneath the hood, the refreshed SUV will likely keep its 2.4-liter four and 3.2-liter V6. Though, the V6 might add a few more horses due to a new turbocharging technology that’s rumored to come.

The upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show is reserved for the 2018 Wrangler, so we don’t expect to see the refreshed Cherokee there. Instead, the carmaker will introduce the crossover at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show in January.
