2019 Volvo V60 Teaser Video and Leaked Images

Volvo has teased the next-generation V60 with a nice video. However, the video doesn’t really reveal anything about the upcoming wagon. On the other hand, the leaked official images that we’ve borrowed from the website AutoMotoSvijet show everything we want to know. Well, okay, almost everything, because we still don’t know what’s cooking inside of the 2019 Volvo V60. For those details, we have to wait for the official debut which will happen pretty soon at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

Anyway, the leaked images are showing a familiar design language. Yes, the mid-size wagon seems to shares plenty of details with the larger V90. That’s not bad at all because thus the V60 looks more dynamic than earlier. Plus, the car sports different, more sloped rooflines, which makes it totally cool. We don’t see the front end here, though from what we’ve managed to see, the wagon is going to feature a pair of pretty aggressive headlights. The rear end is, on the other hand, completely uncovered and shows pretty unusual rear hatch with a pair of really interesting taillights and a quartet of exhaust pipes.

The new-gen Volvo V60 will ride on the SPA platform. The modular architecture already underpins a number of models and supports plenty of engine options. Now, we all know that the Swedish automaker promised to electrify all models in the near future, but that’s not going to happen right away. Instead, the mid-size wagon will share the engine lineup with the XC60 crossover. More precisely, the car will use T5, T6, and T8 drivetrains. The starting T5 option is basically a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine capable of delivering 250 horsepower. The mid-range T6 is using a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 which delivers 316 horsepower. The hottest T8 mill combines the same T6 and an electric motor for the overall output of 400 horsepower.

These powertrains will power the U.S.-specs Volvo V60, while the European version of the mid-size wagon should offer a few more options including two types of diesel. Still, for more information, we have to wait for the official debut which will happen in a few weeks.
