2017 Suzuki Swift Leaked Without Camouflage

Suzuki’s third-generation Swift is ready, at least we think so. The current version has been around for more than six years, but it will be replaced very soon. We know that because the picture of the subcompact hatch you see here is actually the all-new 2017 Suzuki Swift.

Judging by the photo, the popular hatch is getting a completely new exterior styling. The new front fascia appears to be a lot “angrier” and also sexier than before. As you see, the new headlights are larger, more angular, and squinting, while the dominant grille looks really amazing in the pair with the new bumper. However, we can’t skip mentioning that the bumper seems pretty familiar. Perhaps Suzuki has some kind of deal with Maserati? Anyway, the front end looks really good.

According to the latest reports, the 2017 Swift will be a little bit longer and wider from its predecessor. This could bring more space inside but don’t expect anything spectacular. On the other hand, the overall cab will be pretty cool. The carmaker will add a touchscreen-based infotainment system and very likely a TFT color screen for the trip computer. There will be also a flat-bottom steering wheel, as well as USB port and SD card connectivity.

The new-generation Suzuki Swift will share the platform and likely the engines with the new Baleno. This means that the base model could use a naturally-aspirated 1.2-liter unit with 90 horsepower. In case you need more power, there will be a 1.0-liter turbo with 112 hp, while the 2017 Swift Sport should get a 1.4-liter turbo with 140 hp. Finally, the subcompact car might get mild-hybrid powertrain with the SHVS system. Oh yes, we almost forgot to mention that the hatch should shed some weight, so the fuel economy may be significantly better as well.
