2018 Porsche 718 Cayman Gts Spy Shots

There is yet another Porsche GTS in the works. After the carmaker started testing the 718 Boxster GTS a few months ago, our photographers caught a prototype that seems to be the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS.

Judging by the spy shots we have, the 718 Cayman GTS will likely incorporate some of the styling cues from the 918 Spyder hypercar. More precisely, the amazing car seems to feature the identical A-wing design, while below the front fascia, the prototype packs a new lip spoiler. The awesome coupe looks somehow wider due to a horizontal front fascia, yet the new side sills make a visible trick, so you may think that the car sits lower to the ground. Around back, the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS appears to feature more prominent diffusers, while the taillights also seem to be slightly restyled. The special coupe uses larger wheels, which got a five-spoke two-tone design and pretty large ceramic brakes.

Performance-wise, the awesome car is almost definitely using a 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-4 gasoline unit. The current Cayman S gets about 350 horsepower from the option. The 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS will, on the other hand, develop somewhere between 365 and 375 ponies and 330 lb-ft of twist. Aside from it’s going to feature extra power under the hood the vehicle will definitely host Sport Chrono and Porsche Active Suspension Management as a standard part of the equipment.

Even though the carmaker hasn’t released anything regarding the arrival of Porsche’s top-dog Cayman, we are pretty sure it’s going to make its official debut pretty soon, most likely at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show.
