2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel In The U.S.

A redesigned Santa Fe crossover has been introduced home and will make its European debut in two weeks at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The high-riding vehicle will show its pretty face in North America as well, though sometime later. The SUV will get a diesel engine for the first time and guess what? The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel is going to be available in the U.S.

The 2019 Santa Fe will feature the new 2.2-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine. The mill is going to deliver somewhere around 200 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of twist, which is more than enough for an impressive performance. Still, in case you don’t like oil-burners, you can always get the new-gen Santa Fe with a gasoline engine. More precisely, the potential buyers will be able to choose between a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit that produces 185 horsepower and a 2.0-liter turbo which should deliver 232 ponies. All engines will be paired with an eight-speed auto transmission that will supply an all-new all-wheel drive. The system will reportedly provide far better handling and ride quality largely thanks to Normal, Sport, and Smart settings and due to a far better suspension system.

The new-gen Hyundai Santa Fe is larger than the predecessor. More precisely, it gets a few inches in the length and stretched wheelbase. This will boost the interior space, which is reportedly used for passengers’ comfort only. Speaking of which, they will also enjoy new, cozy, and leather seats. Plus, the crossover will host a far better infotainment system with a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen. The infotainment features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the cab gets a Qi wireless charging pad as well. The base model can’t really brag with some fancy equipment, though the SE version, for instance, gets a really impressive suite which includes high beam assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, rearview monitor, and park distance warning.

The most stunning details from the outside are the imposing grille without any doubt. The grille fits perfectly with a pair of aggressive headlights and fog lamps, which look at least twice bigger from the headlights. A really uncommon move, but it seems pretty good too. Speaking of good details, we must mention diamond-cut 19-inch alloy wheels. They are really something.

Stay tuned for updates. The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will be one of the biggest stars in Geneva and we will found out more interesting details that regard the SUV.
