2019 JEEP RENEGADE PROTOTYPE CAUGHT FACELIFTED

Jeep’s mini SUV is getting a facelift for the next year. We managed to catch a camouflaged prototype of the 2019 Jeep Renegade overseas. The vehicle doesn’t hide much, but that’s because it won’t change much. As far as we can see, the mid-cycle refresh will have the biggest influence on the SUV’s front bumper and fenders.

Yes, the prototype covers just these parts, so normally, we would say that the 2019 Renegade won’t get any other change, but that’s not the case. No, this particular testing mule gets no other change, but the production-ready will host at least new headlights and taillights. Plus, the carmaker will think to add something new inside for sure. They will update the existing infotainment, while we would not mind if they increase the display as well. Of course, some usual changes such as new upholstery or a few new paints won’t miss the SUV. Though, Jeep could also improve safety features.

The updated 2019 Jeep Renegade will keep its current engines unchanged. Potential buyers will be able to pick between a turbocharged 1.4-liter four and a 2.4-liter inline-four, as well as a six-speed manual or a nine-speed auto transmission.

Some earlier reports suggest that the small SUV might host a new topping version. If it actually happens, you can expect the 2019 Jeep Renegade Trackhawk. Yes, we know that the carmaker said that’s not going to happen, but we never believe them. Anyway, the new topper will host something that can deliver around 300 ponies, so it could be either a new turbo-four or a V6 Pentastar. Normally, we would always bet on the V6, but this time, however, we are pretty sure it’s going to be the Hurricane.

The refreshed Renegade SUV will be introduced sometime next year. We don’t expect any changed regarding the price.
