2018 Jaguar E-Pace Spotted Testing: It’s Sexy And Sweet Crossover

There will be one more Pace available at the auto market. Yes, the amazing Jaguar F-Pace is getting a younger brother that’s going to arrive sometime this year, most likely before summer. The smaller SUV will be named the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace and will be one very interesting high-riding vehicle without any doubt. We say that because the latest spy shots suggest that it won’t be just a downsized F-Pace, but something completely new.

When we say “the smaller SUV”, we don’t actually mean this. Basically, the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace won’t feature a smaller footprint than the F-Pace. They are almost identical in the length and width, but the upcoming vehicle sports a lot sportier design. Moreover, the 2018 E-Pace could easily be Jaguar’s coupe-looking crossover. As for the front-end styling, it has something in common with the older brother. The headlights appear to be identical, as well as the grill, but the new bumper and hood look unique and charming.

However, these two will definitely share the platform and engines, so we already know what’s under the sexy hood of the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace. For North America, the car manufacturer will offer the all-new crossover with a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine. The power will depend on the trim level you choose. If you buy the base, you will get 340 ponies, yet in case you go for the E-pace S, there will be around 380 horsepower available.

On the other hand, the overseas model will start with a 2.0-liter Ingenium engine. There will be both gasoline and diesel options offered. Anyway, no matter which one engine you choose, it will be paired with a ZF-sourced nine-speed automatic transmission. Of course, the British automaker won’t skip the chance to add an SVR trim as well. However, the E-Pace SVR won’t be introduced with the regular model. No, it will come in two years from now.
