2019 Toyota Supra Will Reportedly Get A Manual And V6 Engine

We have some news about the new-generation Supra. The upcoming Toyota sports car will reportedly get an optional manual gearbox after all. You must be asking yourself how they plan to pair a hybrid powertrain with the manual. Well, it’s quite simple, because the 2019 Toyota Supra won’t get just the gasoline-electric system under the hood. The reborn car will get a gasoline mill as well.

Although some rumors suggest that there will be an inline-4 cylinder engine under the hood, that’s not going to happen at all. No, the 2019 Supra will definitely get a V6 turbocharged engine. Though, we are not so sure whether the turbo unit will come from Toyota’s or BMW’s facilities. The Japanese car manufacturer claims it’s going to be Toyota’s engine for sure, but we are not so sure. In any case, the unit will get an optional manual transmission for sure.

As for the hybrid powertrain, the system will definitely be one of the options. It’s going to power the topping 2019 Toyota Supra, delivering over 400 horsepower and as much pound-feet of torque.

We don’t know when and where the car manufacturer plans to introduce the 2019 Toyota Supra, yet according to the latest reports that might happen later this year at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. If that actually happens, then the U.S public could expect the sports car early next year, or even late this year at the 2017 Los Angeles auto show.
