2020 Cadillac CT5: First Spy Shots and Details

The camouflaged prototype we’ve spotted is reportedly the all-new and amazing 2020 Cadillac CT5. Why it’s is amazing? Well, even though it’s completely camouflaged, the testing model looks amazing thanks to the sporty lines and a bulge in the front. Though, we are pretty sure that the bulge will disappear when the production version of the sports sedan arrives and that the carmaker wants to trick us with it, which is probably the case with the full-width taillights around back.

Under The Hood

As far as we’ve hard, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 will replace both the CTS and XTS models. If it so then the sports sedan has to offer a range of options under the hood. Still, we don’t expect to see the familiar naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 mill. Instead, the vehicle will strictly rely on turbo power. More precisely, the base model will use a turbocharged 2.0-liter unit, while somewhere in the middle the potential buyers are going to be able to get an amazing twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. The vanilla CT5-V will have the most potent unit engine under the hood of course. Moreover, since it’s going to use a 550-hp 4.2-liter V8 the carmaker could reconsider to keep the bulge for some additional cooling.

Design and Technologies

Speaking of the airflow, well the sedan seems to gets mesh treatment in the front to keep the drivetrain cold. Plus, the bumper hosts air intakes in each corner, which means that even the V8 won’t lose its breath. Uphill, the prototype appears to feature quite slim and aggressive headlights, which will be LED-treated without any doubt. Aside it hosts fake taillights the rear end also shows some angular cutouts in the bumper for exhaust pipes.

We’ve almost skipped mentioning that the front end hosts a camera and sensor. This is important because thus we know that the 2020 CX5 is going to feature an advanced driver assistance system, likely Cadillac’s outstanding Super Cruise system, which enables lots of hands-free driving.
