Jeep’s small Renegade SUV has been caught once again. This time, however, we haven’t spotted any testing prototype, but the naked production-ready model. Well, the shots don’t reveal everything, but we would at least know who it will look the face and infotainment of the facelifted 2019 Jeep Renegade.
The front end of the crossover will definitely have a lot in common with the all-new Wrangler. More precisely, the iconic nameplate will let the small SUV use the same LED graphics. Though, we think that this isn’t going to be a standard but optional feature. In addition, the grille has been tweaked as well. More precisely, it features a tad lighter trim from the rest of the body. Below, the refreshed high-riding vehicle sports a restyled bumper with reshaped and repositioned fog lamps.
Step inside and you will see a completely different infotainment screen. Yes, the 2019 Renegade hosts an 8.4-inch Uconnect display, which will be a touchscreen without any doubt. HVAC controls have been redesigned, too. The new SUV is featuring Compass arrangement.
Today’s Renegade uses a 2.4-liter engine with 180 horsepower. Some markets use a smaller 1.4-liter turbo, which pumps out around 160 hp. Both units will likely be carried over or perhaps just slightly updated. Still, that’s not going to be everything from the SUV. No, some reports suggest that the carmaker can even add a hybrid powertrain, while the other sources claim that the 2019 Jeep Renegade is getting a new 2.0-liter, so-called Hurricane engine, which will develop 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Still, neither of them has been confirmed yet, so we will see what’s really going to happen.
Jeep will not introduce the updated subcompact SUC at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. No, because it’s reserved for the refreshed Cherokee. Instead, the 2019 Jeep Renegade will hit the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
