No, this is not the new Power Wagon which we’ve spied a day ago. This one sits significantly closer to the ground, so we know it’s the 2020 Ram 3500 Dually. The camouflaged prototype appears to hide a number of cosmetic changes, especially in the front. We’ve figured out that because the testing model uses heavy coverings. Plus, the carmaker has lots of ideas for the HD model after the arrival of the redesigned Ram 1500.
We are sure that the 2020 Ram 3500 Dually is not going to keep the distinctive crosshair grille. Instead, the future heavy-duty workhorse will receive the same treatment as the smaller Ram 1500. In addition, the carmaker will add a pair of slim headlights, LED treated of course, as well as a more aggressive hood design. The camouflaged prototype seems to host new fenders, which are positioned higher than earlier.
The cabin will get a few changes as well. According to the latest reports, the refreshed 3500 Dually will feature better quality materials, new upholstery, and a totally new infotainment system, so-called Uconnect 4 which is going to be paired either with a standard 8.4-inch display or with an optional 12-inch touchscreen. The later one gets a standard navigation system which is not going to be the case for the base unit.
Under the hood, the 2020 Ram 3500 Dually keep its gasoline units untouched. Meaning, the base 5.7-liter V8 will continue to produce 383 horsepower and a 6.4-liter V8 will make 410 hp. The 6.7-liter diesel will one the other hand is updated and improved in order to compete with the biggest rivals. At the moment, the oil-chugging delivers 350 hp and 660 pound-feet of torque, 370 hp and 800 lb-ft, and 385 HP with 930 lb-ft, but the updated heavy-duty truck should be able to pump out almost 1,000 lb-ft of grunt.
Judging by the first information, the 2020 Ram 3500 Dually will be introduced early next year, most likely in Chicago.
