2018 Audi S8 Spied Redesigned: it Gets New Bit-turbo Engines and Autonomous Driving System

This isn’t the first time we see a prototype of Audi’s flagship high-performance sedan, but it’s the first time we have a complete idea of what’s coming. The completely redesigned Audi S8 2018 appears to be pretty much the same as the regular new generation A8, except it sports some cues that are characteristic for the high-performance division.

As you may notice, the testing model of the next-generation S8 sports a completely different exhaust layout. The topper will be able to brag with four tips, two on each side of the rear bumper. In addition, A8’s hotter cousin seems to sit lower to the ground, while they share most of the other details. The new generation Audi S8 will use a new architecture. The MLB Evo platform will cut at least 220 pounds, so the lightweight body should make the range-topping sedan more efficient from the current model. Under the hood, the flagship high-performance car will get the latest engine from the Panamera Turbo. It’s a Biturbo 4.0-liter V8 that fires up to 550 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of twist. The carmaker will likely offer the 2018 Audi S8 Plus model with an all-new engine. The W-12 powered version will use an all-new Biturbo 6.0-liter. This mill made the official debut with the Bentley Bentayga, so we know it’s capable of churns 608 ponies.
